The soundtrack of 'Lonely Ballerina' by Mantovani features quite heavily in Lonely Ballerina. Mantovani (1905 -1980), conductor, composer, and light orchestra-styled entertainer enjoyed many top 10 hits in both the US and UK charts, predominantly in the 1950s. He had two UK No1 hits with 'The Song From The Moulin Rouge' (1953) and 'Cara Mia' (1954). In 1955 'Lonely Ballerina' peaked at No 16 in the UK.
